   यह पता चला है कि रूस के एक विशिष्ट क्षेत्र में फेफड़ों का कैंसर 50 प्रतिशत बढ़ गया है , पेट के कैंसर की दर 30 प्रतिशत बढ़ गयी है और बच्चों में जन्मजात दोष 55 प्रतिशत बढ़ गये हैं-वस्तुतः इन सबका कारण है पीड़कनाशियों का अत्यधिक उपयोग .
2. What must be stressed is that many types of congenital birth defects are compatible with a normal life . Parents should not unnecessarily become worried because the diagnosis of a congenital heart defect has been made . Proper advice should be sought from a competent paedi-atric cardiologist and then treatment , medical or surgical , given .
   विशिष्ट बात यह है कि अनेक प्रकार के जन्मजात दोष सामान्य जीवन के लिए सुसंगत होते है.अभिभावकों को अनावश्यक रूप से चिंत्Lत नहीं होना चाहिए क़्योंकि जन्मजात हृदय दोष का निदान किया जा सकता है.उपयुक़्त शिशु एवं हृदयचिकित्सक से सही सलाह लेकर , औषधीय या शल्यक्रिया उपचार कराना चाहिए .

At this stage not only should general aspects such as nutrition , body weight , etc . be measured but the inculcation of good habits , e.g . abstinence from smoking , indulgence in regular exercise and sports and avoidance of obesity be stressed . Many congenital mafor-mations of skeletal growth , of the heart and of other organs can be detected at this stage .
   आदर्श स्थिति के अनुसार बचपन बीतने के बाद स्कूल में ही इसे पूर्ण रूप से अपनाना चाहिए.इस अवस्था में , न केवल सामान्य पक्ष जैसे कि आहार , शारीरिक भार , आदि को मापना चाहिए बल्कि धूम्रपान से परहेज , नियमित व्यायाम और खेलों से प्रेम और मोटापे से बचाव जैसी अच्छी आदतों को भी सीखने पर जोर देना चाहिए.अस्थिविकास , हृदय और अन्य अंगों की वृद्धि में किसी जन्मजात दोष का इसी अवस्था में पता लगाया जा सकता है .
